Timex publishes hundreds of references. We do not list all of them. This page explains what gets a watch onto the site.
It has to wear well
Case diameter, lug-to-lug and thickness decide whether a watch is comfortable, and comfort decides whether it gets worn. We favour references that sit properly on an average wrist over ones that only photograph well.
The dial has to be readable
A watch is an instrument before it is jewellery. Clear indices, real contrast between hands and dial, and a date window you can read without holding the watch up to the light.
The specification has to be knowable
We publish case size and material on every product because we have that data for every product. Where we do not have a figure — water resistance on some references, movement on others — we leave it out. An empty field is more honest than a plausible guess.
The price has to make sense
Timex sits in a specific part of the market. A reference has to earn its price against the rest of the range, not just against watches from other brands.
What we leave out
Kids’ watches, novelty sizes and anything we could not describe accurately. If we cannot tell you what you are buying, we should not be selling it.
